Varsity Team Beats Bolton 11-1

The MUS Varsity Team beat Bolton 11-1 to advance to the semi-final round against Bishop Verot Catholic High School from Fort Myers, Florida.  The game today will be at USA Stadium at 5:15 pm.  The winner will advance to the Championship Game on Saturday at 4:00 p.m.

Owls Win Opener at USA Classic

The Varsity Owls won the opening game at the USA Classic beating Houston High School 3-2 in eight innings.  The team will face Bolton today at 3:00 p.m. at USA Stadium in the second round.  See the link below for the CA article that was in the paper this morning.

USA Classic Tournament

The Owls will play Houston in the opening round of the 19th annual USA Classic at 4:30 p.m. at the USA Stadium in Millingon.  Click on the link below for a bracket of the tournament.

Baseball canceled for Tuesday, March 29

Both JV and Varsity Baseball games have been canceled for tonight,Tuesday, March 29th.

Memphis University (Memphis, TN) out-slug Clay Chalkville, 14-8

FWB -- Basepaths were burned at Fort Walton Beach on Thursday afternoon as Memphis University (Memphis, TN) and Clay Chalkville put 22 runs on the board. The Memphis University (Memphis, TN) won the offensive battle 14-8 over the Clay Chalkville. The two teams combined for 22 hits.

Memphis University (Memphis, TN) starter Andrew Plunkett, allowing six runs in four innings, but the bullpen (Jianyin Roachell, Victor Cole) allowed two runs and the offense banged out 11 hits to pick up the slack and secure the victory for the Memphis University (Memphis, TN).

The Memphis University (Memphis, TN) scored five runs in the first. In the inning, Clay Chalkville gave up one run on a sacrifice fly by Jason Manis. Later that inning, runs came in when Jordan Rodgers grounded out and Carson Smith was hit by a pitch.

The Memphis University (Memphis, TN) knocked in five runs in the fifth. In the inning, the Owls scored one run on a single by Forrest Baty. Later, runs came in when Wells Prather singled, William Cross hit a sacrifice fly and Manis reached on an error.

Memphis University (Memphis, TN) fend off Lee Scott in high-scoring affair

FWB -- Basepaths were burned at Fort Walton Beach High School on Friday as Memphis University (Memphis, TN) and Lee Scott put 23 runs on the board. The Memphis University (Memphis, TN) won the offensive battle 15-8 over the Lee Scott. The two teams combined for 25 hits.

Jake Deason homered in the second inning, scoring Victor Cole.

Eight runs made the second a key inning for the Memphis University (Memphis, TN). In addition to Deason's home run, the Owls scored two runs on a groundout by Shane Tucker. Later that inning, two runs came in when Wells Prather tripled and runs came in when Jason Manis and Cole hit singles.

An explosive fourth was key for the Lee Scott, as they brought in five runs.  The Owls are now 3-0.

Memphis University (Memphis, TN) score 18 to defeat Brew Tech in high-scoring contest

FWB -- The bats were busy at FWB on Tuesday afternoon and when the dust cleared Memphis University (Memphis, TN) had an 18-8 victory over Brew Tech. The two teams combined for 28 hits.

Memphis University (Memphis, TN) starter Jordan Rodgers picks up the win, allowing five runs in three innings, but the bullpen allowed three runs and the offense banged out 15 hits to pick up the slack and secure the victory for the Memphis University (Memphis, TN).

Jake Deason went 2-for-4 at the plate and drove in three Memphis University (Memphis, TN) runners. Deason tripled in the fourth inning, scoring William Cross and homered in the fifth inning, scoring Cross.

The Memphis University (Memphis, TN) brought in six runs in the third. In the inning, The Owls added another run on a sacrifice fly by Cross. Later that inning, two runs came in when Andrew Plunkett doubled and a run came in when Dalton Dulin singled.

Manis hits two home runs to lift Memphis University (Memphis, TN) to victory over Paul Bryant

FWB -- A superb effort by Jason Manis was the key element for the Memphis University (Memphis, TN), who won 12-2 over the Paul Bryant on Monday at Fort Walton Beach.

Manis rocked Paul Bryant with two home runs. Manis went 3-for-3 in the game with four RBIs and two runs scored. Manis homered in the fourth and sixth innings.

Carson Smith delivered a big hit in the second inning. His single was the key moment in Memphis University (Memphis, TN)'s 10-run win.

After William Cross singled the Memphis University (Memphis, TN) were leading by one when Smith came to the plate with one out and runners on second and third. Smith singled, scoring Cross from third.

Smith went 2-for-2 at the plate and drove in three Memphis University (Memphis, TN) runners.

Six runs in the first three innings helped the Memphis University (Memphis, TN) blowout the Paul Bryant.

Varsity Team Results at Fort Walton Beach

The MUS Varsity Baseball Team won on Monday and Tuesday at the Fort Walton Invitational.  Monday afternoon the team beat Hall Bryant  12-2.  Victor Cole was the winning pitcher. Jason Manis had two home runs in the game. On Tuesday the team beat Bruetec 18-8. The winning pitcher was Jordan Rogers. Shane Tucker and Jake Deason each had home runs.  The team will face Lee Scott on Wednesday evening at 6:00 p.m.  On Thursday the team will face Clay Chalkville at 3:00 p.m. Both games will take place at Fort Walton Beach High School.

JV and Varsity Schedule for Friday and Saturday

The JV and Varsity will be at MUS for practice from 4:00 -5:00 p.m. today, friday, March 4th.  The scrimmage with Covington has been cancelled for Saturday.  Covington will come here on Wednesday, March 9th for a scrimmage with the Varsity at 4:00 p.m. and with the JV at 6:30 p.m.
