Sub-State Update

The match between MUS and Pope John Paul II will be played on Tuesday, May 19th at 5:00 PM at JP II.  The team will leave school at 11:00 AM on Tuesday right after the Science exam and follow a schedule similar to this past Friday's.  Players should wash their blue uniforms and have them ready for Tuesday.

Underclassmen should study some this weekend for Wednesday and Thursday's exams (math and foreign language).  Any adjustments in the exam schedule will be discussed at practice.   

The team will practice on Monday aftearnoon at 3:30 PM on Webb field.  Bring both flats and cleats in case of poor weather. 

The coaching staff and I would like to thank the parents for their patience with Friday's trip.  Thank you for being so supportive!

Sub-State Match against JP II in Hendersonville on Friday

The MUS Varsity soccer team will play Pope John Paul II in Hendersonville at 5:00 PM on Friday, May 15th.  The current plan is to leave MUS on Friday morning immediately after the history exam.

 

Players will be bringing home information and permission slips this afternoon.

Region Soccer Tournament - Semi-Finals on Friday, May 8

The MUS Varsity soccer team will play in the semi-finals of the Region Soccer Tournament on Friday, May 8 at 5:00 PM at the Briarcrest Sports Complex on Houston Levee Road. MUS (the #2 seed) will face off against St. Benedict (the #3 seed).  Immediately after the MUS match, CBHS (the #1 seed) will take on the winner of a play-in match between Briarcrest (the #4 seed) and ECS (the #5 seed).

All four semi-final participants will play again on Tuesday, May 12 in either the consolation round at 5:00 PM or the finals at 7:00 PM.  The top three teams in the region advance to sub-state play, and the fourth place team's season ends. 

MUS 8 Plays in Shelby League Finals Tonight

The MUS eighth grade soccer team plays in the final match of the Shelby League Tournament tonight against St. George's at St. George's at 5:45 PM. 

Shelby League Soccer Tournament Semi-Finals

Congratulations to the MUS eighth grade soccer team for advancing to the next round of the Shelby League Tournament. 

On Monday, May 4th at St. George's at 5:00 PM, MUS 8 will play the winner of the Woodland vs Briarcrest match (which is being played Friday afternoon). 

The MUS 7 squad does not get to advance to the next round due to their loss, but many different people (from referees to parents of players at other schools) have commented on the ability of the seventh grade squad and their level of play.  Thank you for a great season and for representing yourselves and MUS well!

MUS JV B Match against Cordova JV Friday

The MUS JV B team will have its final match of the year against the Cordova JV tomorrow (Friday) at 5:30 PM at MUS.

Shelby League Tournament Matches for Thursday, April 29

On Thursday, April 29th, our two MUS middle-school squads will participate in the first round of the Shelby League Soccer Tournament.

 

 

MUS 7 plays at St. George's at 4:30 PM.

 

Harding plays at MUS 8 (Webb Soccer Field at MUS) at 7:30 PM under the lights. 

All eighth-grade soccer players need to meet with Coach Murphy at 8:05 AM Thursday morning in Lower School room # 102 (Coach Tyler's classroom).  Please be prompt.   

Shelby League Soccer Tournament

The Shelby League Soccer Tournament bracket has been set.  Congratulations to both of our squads for fine seasons.  MUS 8 is ranked first with an 8 - 0 record, and MUS 7 is ranked sixth with a 2 - 3 - 3 record.  Our two squads are on opposite sides of the tournament bracket and will not get to play each other again unless they both make it to the finals.

MUS 7 plays on Thursday, April 30 against St. George's at St. George's at 4:30 PM.  The winner of this match will play in the semi-finals on Monday, May 4th at 6:00 PM at St. George's against the winner of the ECS vs St. Francis match. 

MUS 8 will play the winner of the play-in match between Harding and FACS.  THE TIME AND LOCATION OF THE FIRST MATCH FOR MUS 8 WILL BE DETERMINED BY WEDNESDAY EVENING; CHECK THE BLOG AGAIN TOMORROW NIGHT FOR THE DATE (THURS OR FRI), TIME, AND LOCATION.  The winner of the first round in this side of the bracket will play in the semi-finals on Monday, May 4th at 5:00 PM at St. George's against the winner of the Woodland vs Briarcrest match.

The tournament finals are on Tuesday, May 5th at St. George's at 5:45 PM.  

 

JV and Varsity Soccer for April 23rd - JV Match Cancelled

The 5:00 PM JV soccer match against St. Benedict originally scheduled for this evening has been cancelled.  The JV squad will not practice today but should plan on practicing Monday at the regular time.

 

The 7:00 PM Varsity match against St. Benedict is still on.  Players should go to the soccer equipment room immediately after school to pick up their uniforms.

Lower School Soccer for Friday, April 17

The starting time of the MUS 8 at St. George's match has been moved up 15 minutes from 4:30 PM to 4:15 PM.  Eighth-grade players need to proceed to the St. George's soccer field immediately after school on Friday.

The seventh grade soccer team will practice on Friday afternoon right after school on the Ridgeway practice field from 3:45 to 5:15 PM.
