Shelby League Tournament April 28, April 29, and May 1st

MUS 7 (the #4 seed) will be hosting Woodland (the #5 seed) at MUS at 5:00 PM on Monday, April 28th. Should the MUS 7 squad advance, the boys would wear blue on Tuesday and would play at 7:00 PM at St. George's against the winner of the first round match between ECS (the #1 seed) and St. George's Red (the #8 seed).

MUS 8 (the #2 seed) will be hosting Briarcrest (the #7 seed) at MUS at 6:30 PM on Monday, April 28th.  Should the MUS 8 squad advance, the boys would wear white on Tuesday and would play at 5:30 PM at St. George's against the winner of the first round match between St. George's Gold (the #3 seed) and Harding (the #6 seed).

 

The Championship Match is scheduled for Thursday, May 1st at St. George's at 5:30 PM. 

Round One of the Shelby League Soccer Tournament

MUS 7 and MUS 8 will both be hosting matches in the first round of the Shelby League Soccer Tournament.

MUS 7 (the #4 seed) will be hosting Woodland (the #5 seed) at MUS at 5:00 PM on Monday, April 28th.  The winner of this match will face the winner of #1 vs #8 on Tuesday at St. George's. 

MUS 8 (the #2 seed) will be hosting Briarcrest (the #7 seed) at MUS at 6:30 PM on Monday, April 28th.  The winner of this match will face the winner of #3 vs #6 on Tuesday at St. George's. 

Both MUS squads will wear white for their first-round matches.

The times for the second round of matches will be posted as soon as they are available.

Freshman Match at St. Benedict Now Starts at 7:30 PM

The starting time for the match on April 24th between the MUS 9th grade squad and the St. Benedict JV squad at St. Benedict scheduled for 7:00 PM has been pushed back 30 minutes.  The match now starts at 7:30 PM.  The boys were notified of this change at practice yesterday.    

Please Wear Your Lindisfarne Tie on Friday, April 25th

If you were one of the 24 boys who exchanged gifts with the Lindisfarne team after the JV match this past Saturday, you received a Lindisfarne school tie.  Please wear the tie on Friday, April 25th with a white shirt, your blue blazer, and gray or khaki pants.  The coaching staff would like to have a picture made with all of you in your ties to send to the Lindisfarne guys.  We'll take the picture on the Chapel steps immediately after Friday Chapel.  Thanks for your help!

Directions to ECS for 8th Grade Match

The Eighth-grade squad plays at ECS on Monday afternoon.  Their coach has sent information regarding the location of the match.

"Games are being played on the Football Field.  If you are coming from G'town Pky, west on Macon-take the third street.  Entrance to the field is between the 'Legacy' Center (Newer Gym) and the larger bleachers."

Updates for Saturday, April 19th

Please be aware of the following changes / details:

1) The Varsity match with Ridgeway scheduled for Saturday, April 19th has been canceled.  There is no Varsity match on Saturday.

2) The matches against the New Zealand squads are at 8:30 AM and 10:00 AM on Saturday 

        Our 9th-grade team plays at 8:30 AM.  Players should expect to wear a white jersey, blue shorts, and blue socks; arrive by 7:45 AM.  Arrange your ride so that you may stay and watch the entire JV match.

        The JV squad plays at 10:00 PM.  Players should expect to wear a blue jersey, blue shorts, and blue socks; you must arrive by 9:00 AM, but if you can arrive early and watch the first match, that is preferred.

A reminder to host families: the boys whom you are hosting will be leaving from MUS on Saturday morning after the matches, so please make sure that they bring all of their luggage and belongings with them.

No Soccer Practice on Friday, April 11th

None of the high-school soccer squads (9th, JV, or Varsity) will practice on Friday afternoon, April 11th.  Monday, April 14, practice resumes at the regular time for the Varsity and JV squads; the freshmen play Briarcrest's JV squad at 6:00 PM at MUS on Monday.

7th Grade Match against Lausanne Canceled

The 7th grade match against Lausanne scheduled for Friday, April 11th has been postponed due to poor field conditions at Lausanne.  The match is now scheduled to be played on Thursday, April 17th at 4:15 PM at MUS.  The Lower School soccer schedule will be updated soon to reflect this change.

Lower School Soccer Updates

Please note the following changes / updates in the Lower School schedule:

1) The match between MUS 8 and GSL scheduled for Friday, April 11th has been canceled due to the fact that MUS will not have enough players to field a team; quite a few players went to the State Latin Convention.

2) MUS 8 has a practice Monday afternoon, April 14th at 4:00 PM on the football practice field. 

3) The games scheduled for Wednesday, April 16th have been "flipped" time wise.  St. Georges' Gold will play MUS 8 at MUS at 4:30 PM; St. George's Red will play MUS 7 at MUS at 6:00 PM.

Work is still in progress to find dates for the MUS 7 vs Germantown match and the MUS 8 vs GSL match.  When the matches are re-scheduled, the players will be notified, and the Lower School schedule will be updated on the blog.   

Germantown @ MUS 7 Scheduled for Wednesday, April 9th is Canceled

The 7th grade match against Germantown scheduled for Wednesday, April 9th has been canceled.  The Germantown team was double-booked for Wednesday, and no team can play two matches back-to-back.  Our match will eventually be re-scheduled, but at the moment, no date or time has been set.
