MUS Swimming

Practice Dec 27, 28, and 29

We will NOT be having practice December 27, 28, and 29, as originally planned.

You may swim on your own at the YMCA or do something aerobic. 

We have a meet the 1st Saturday we get back and County is January 29.  Stay in shape!

Great Meets for both Varsity and Lower School

The Varsity Team pulled out a strong victory on Saturday at the Germantown Invitational.

The Lower School team was narrowly out-scored by MHEA and brought home the 2nd place trophy.

Scores and results will be posted soon.

Congratulations to both teams!

Timeline for Saturday

The timeline is showing that the Varsity Meet should be over at 12:30 on Saturday.

The Lower School meet should start right after that, so LOWER SCHOOL SWIMMERS, BE AT THE MEET BY 12:30.  The Lower School meet should be over about 4:30.

Please remember, this meet has been seeded and MUS has paid for your entries.  Please make every effort to be at the meet.  Your teammates are counting on you.  If you cannot be at the meet because you are too sick, please call Coach Clark or Coach Whitney as soon as possible.

Road Closures in Germantown on Saturday

The Germantown Parade is this Saturday.  Starting at 11:00 and lasting until the completion of the parade, several roads will be closed, including Exeter in front of the Germantown Athletic Club, where the meets will be held.  They are asking us to us Germantown Parkway or Neshoba to enter the facility during this time.

Need Holiday Gift Ideas?

The YMCA has an "Angel" tree in their lobby for at-risk children.  There are tags for teen-age boys on the tree.  Please feel free to take one, get a gift, and return it to the YMCA.  I just found out this ends tomorrow, so if you're interested you need to hurry.  Here's more information about this.  Download YMCA YCAP Gift Drive

Germantown Invitational

The Varsity Team will compete in the Germantown Invitational this Saturday, December 11.  Warm-ups are from 7:30AM to 8:30AM, with an 8:45AM start. 

The Middle School Meet will start right after the Varsity Meet ends, but no earlier than noon.

We will need at least two timers from MUS for each meet.  If you'd like to help, please email laurie.clark@musowls.org. 

Varsity Wins in Dallas

The Varsity squad traveled to Dallas last Saturday.  Out of 23 teams and 380 athletes, MUS placed 1st with a score of 420 points.  The 2nd place finisher, South Grand Prairie, had 262 points.

Every swimmer contributed to this win! 

Varsity Team still undefeated

Results from the meet on Thursday night were -

• MUS - 129
• CBHS - 78
• St. Benedicts - 51
• Arlington - 46
• Houston - 42
• Harding - 0

The 200-yard medley relay team of Taylor Jordan, Ethan Landau, Richard Twardzik and Nedas Jakstas placed first  Other first place finishes included Michael Green in the 200-yard freestyle, Nedas Jakstas in the 50-yard breaststroke, and Taylor Jordan in the 100-yard butterfly.

The Varsity squad is traveling to Dallas this weekend to compete in the Irving Invitational.
