MUS took home the County Championship on Saturday in huge part to the team's depth. Several swimmers moved up on their seed positions and scored big time points for the Owls. It was an impressive performance and I hope to see more of that in 2 weeks in Nashville.
Senior Crews Wellford (200 Freestyle, 100 Individual Medley) and Pace Clark (200 Individual Medley, 100 Butterfly) won both of their individual events and our 400 yard freestyle took #1 overall honors as well but almost every event was peppered with MUS swimmers in the Top 10.
The 200 yard Freestyle Relay (Brooksbank, Harrison, Tabor, Clark) broke the MUS record with a time of 1:32.57.
21 different athletes scored points for us on Saturday and we now have 13 State Qualifiers. Sophomores Drew Evans, Austin Dobbs, and Seamus Fitzhenry all dropped huge chunks of time to make their first ever State Qualifying times. Sophomore Reed Harrison and Freshman Richard Ouyang added new cuts as well.
