The Varsity team had it's best outing of the season yesterday as the team gears up for regional competition. Using a team multi event scoring system the Owls came out ahead of CBHS, BCS and Bishop Byrne. More importantly several of the guys really performed very well individually. Senior Sam Cox cleared a season best 14' 6" in the pole vault, Junior Ben Benton set personal best in both the discus and shot put making him a candidate for a state meet appearance, and Junior John Sousalous continued his solid performances in the long jump and triple jump. Freshman Harrison Williams had a very good day as well winning the high jump and showing very good improvement in the 110 Hurdles.
Next up is the regional decathlon. After several very strong years we are rebuilding in this event and will have all newcomeres. Competing for the Owls will be Sophomore Will Whitley and freshmen Trey Moore, Anthony Walton, and Harrison Williams. This event take place next Tuesday and Wednesday here at MUS.
